Parish Respect Life Representatives Dear Parish Respect Life Representative, Many thanks for accepting God's call to Respect Life Ministry through leadership of your parish Respect Life Committee. The task before us is to help people recognize the sanctity of life. We strive to prevent interference with God's plan for life and to improve the quality of life for Gods people. Pope John Paul II has called us to be people of life and to do our part to turn the culture of death into a culture of life. This Parish Respect Life Ministry Manual is designed to be a resource for you. It will help you understand the structure of the ministry on the national, state, diocesan and parish levels. It provides practical suggestions on the formation and structure of your Parish Respect Life Committee. It will acquaint you with the many resources which are available to you and your parish. In reviewing these materials, please do not be overwhelmed. There is much work to be done and there are many ideas of how to do it. With the help of your pastor and other interested parishioners, determine the first step your parish needs to take in order to strengthen your parish respect life efforts. Develop your committee and increase your parish respect life activities one step at a time. When you find someone to chair a committee, make a copy of the appropriate section of the manual to give to that individual. Return the original to the manual for future use with new recruits. This manual belongs to your parish and is to be passed on to your successor when the time comes. We will be sending updates as needed.
